"Breastfeeding with Love and in Public" - Free Photo Shoot During Black Breastfeeding Week

We are celebrating Black Breastfeeding Week with the launch of a project to increase the representation of Black mothers breastfeeding in the media. In 2018, there is still minimal media representation of Black mothers breastfeeding, noting few images found online through stock photography. Have you ever looked for a photo of a breastfeeding Black mother on a site like Shutterstock? We are developing a project to address this issue. Black Girls Breastfeeding Club is teaming up with Atlanta photographer, Kristin Fields, to offer a free breastfeeding photo shoot for 8 African American breastfeeding mothers and babies in the Atlanta-Area. The photo photo shoot will feature and celebrate African American mothers breastfeeding in public spaces. We would like to include mothers who represent diverse ages and children at various lengths of breastfeeding duration. Mothers will receive free digital copies of their photos. Photos from this event will be a part of this project and will be made available online for public use as stock photography. If you are interested in participating in this project, please complete the form here by Thursday, August 23rd. We are limited to 8 mothers. Notifications will be sent by August 24th. If you have any questions, please contact us at blackgirlsbreastfeedingclub@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
